Rathangan
Tidy Towns Proposal
For eight days, the group worked tirelessly to learn the town of Rathangan and improve upon the towns Tidy Towns 2018 proposal. The goal? To bring biodiversity to the forefront of their five-year plan.
Following the design thinking model, the group first sought out to learn all they could about Rathangan and its residents. Doing so would allow the group to think like Rathanganders and approach the problem from a viewpoint of residents.
After stepping into the shoes of those native to Rathangan, the group began to develop an understanding of how the town worked and the values of its members. Using this information, the group started brainstorming possible activities, programs, and events that could incorporate the town's values with new ways to enhance biodiversity.
To test these plans, the group marketing and planned a community brainstorm event centered around activities the town could do to promote environmental sustainability. Numerous community members attended the event, in which
followed by a forum to further hear from experts in the town about improving biodiversity and engaging various groups within the community.

Finally, after working tirelessly to empathize with the town of Rathangan, and prototype the ideas that were synthesized as a result. The group created a proposal with the All-Ireland Pollinator Plan as a driving factor for their decisions.
